3 things you didn't know about Tara
1) There is a statue of her great, great, great grandfather on the island of Hydra in Greece, because he was an admiral and politician during the Greek War of Independence.
2) Her parents gave her a single letter, T, as her middle name, with this intention of her choosing it herself. She still hasn't.
3) During college, she was only on campus 60% of the time because she took advantage of so many internship and study abroad opportunities – including living in Peru and Australia.
As a Data Scientist at cohesion, I integrate and analyze mechanical system and tenant occupancy datasets to derive insights that promote environmental and economic optimizations.
Tara started her career in Environmental Research, where she mined satellite imagery to capture and classify deforestation events. Using skills she picked up from the lab, she to transitioned into industry as a Data Scientist. Prior to cohesion, she worked in healthcare, commercial real estate, and government tech on data projects ranging from building customer engagement models to integrating disparate public health datasets. She enjoys working with cross-functional teams to create novel solutions to problems that have real world impact.
Tara holds an M.S in Computer Science from the University of Maryland College Park and a B.S in Environmental Science from Northeastern University in Boston. She currently serves on the Auxillary Board for Plant Chicago, a Chicago-based circular economy non-profit. Outside of work, she can be found cooking elaborate meals and dreaming about her next travel adventure.
