Rebranding our Company, Cohesion

Cohesion has grown tremendously since its launch in 2018. We’ve gone through various re-brands, but with each of those, there was growth. Development of the actual product itself and in the way we shared our vision with the world.

Our platform exists to bridge the gap between siloed tenant-facing apps and legacy building engineering systems. It delivers higher operating efficiency, better tenant experiences, and addresses real-time health and safety needs that building occupants require. We’ve launched new features including an Indoor Air Quality Program with Environmental Systems Design (ESD) and have expanded our customer base globally, notably with our recent launch in Singapore.

In only a year, we’ve expanded our platform’s functionality, raised $6.5M in seed funding, doubled our team, and were awarded the Digie Award for our launch in 151 N. Franklin, recognized as RealComm’s “Most Intelligent Building.” According to Built In Chicago, we are among the top Chicago tech startups to watch in 2020.

As we reflected on our successes these past two years, we realized our brand identity no longer represented the company we’ve grown to be and the results we deliver.

Our new brand identity

Our approach is reflected by our ambitious goals, innovative thinking, and the power of partnership. We worked with an agency to create a new brand identity that reflected who we are and where we’re going.


We are connecting building technology to enhance the human experience. The logo portrays the cohesiveness, togetherness, and future our company holds with our partners and team.

Our new identity represents our integrated approach for each of our customers. The new Cohesion logomark, the “E” in our logo, is built with two of our updated brand colors, representing how individual components can come together to achieve one desired result. The logomark also identifies the main structure our platform supports – buildings.

We’ve also introduced a new color palette. Our prior green and navy colors represented the bold attitude we had as a new emerging player in the proptech industry. While we still hold that boldness in our company, we’ve replaced those colors with primary colors of teal feather, green sea, raspberry, and navy midnight. Our secondary colors, melon, soft yellow, and ash gray, complement the overall look, allowing for brighter colors to represent our brand.

Starting with a small team of three, our team has always worked hard to deliver the best results while staying focused on our mission: to empower real estate owners to increase portfolio value through connected building systems, enhanced tenant experiences, and actionable insights.

We are leaders in the industry, and each of our accomplishments is a result of us working together. And while we’re still growing, we wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredible team, investors, partners, and customers.
